How to treat dark under eye circles

Dark under eye circles
My grandma has always told me to place a slice of potato or cucumber to relax and cool my eyes, normalizing the blood flow. As gold as an advice, this is only a temporary fix. Dark under eye circles are actually not that big of a deal to me, put some concealer on and they are gone.

Everybody has them and since the skin around your eyes is the thinnest skin layer in your body, which gets even thinner with age, the purple veins underneath will show. Now you do not want to get rid of your veins, ok? ;) But you can try to help your under eye skin with an under eye treatment. The best under eye cream is one containing vitamin K and retinol. If you are a woman, a concealer is your best alley.

There are some medicines that as a side effect make your under eye circles more evident, because they dilate  the veins under your eyes and the blood flow there increases. Dark under eye circles can be  hereditary, resulting from lack of sleep, stress, dehydration, loss of skin collagen with age and an uncountable number of other causes.

I know that dark under eye circles are a beauty drama, they make you look older etc... Some people feels helpless and I know that even hemorrhoid creams have been used to help with under eye bags. I do not know the results of this experiments, but if you do please let me know. :)

I have also heard of a hydrolyze revitalizing under eye treatment. Hydrolize is an under eye cream to treat dark circles and similar problems. I have no idea on its formula and I know that it is quite expensive. I am curious to try it out. If you already have, let me know in the comments below.

What worries me the most is the root cause of not normal and pathologic dark under eye circles. Your body communicates with you through signs and symptoms. Try to understand your body and  find the troublesome factor and you will be fine. Do not just try to manipulate the results. In the long run it won't be any good to you.

You may develop dark circles around your eyes, because of hypothyroidism. The lack of the thyroid hormone can cause dry, itchy skin and puffy eyes.

Really dark under eye circles may indicate deficiencies in certain minerals like iron, thus the body may be shouting to you that you have anemia and you need to go and get checked by a doctor and run some blood tests. Basically, the veins located around your eye area become more noticeable whenever you have iron deficiency.

In the same way, women who are pregnant or those who are in the middle of their menstrual period tend to have dark under-eye circles because their bodies experience severe iron loss.

To sum it up, learn to translate the language through which your body is communicating with you. Know the cause of any sign that seems not normal to you and treat it. Bad symptoms that show are not an enemy. They warn us to take measures and save ourselves... The hidden ones are to be afraid of... That's all.

Stay well.

Are BB Creams the best for your face?

Garnier BB Cream
Nowadays BB creams are widely used and well known. The BB cream in reality stands for 'Blemish Balm' and it is formulated in order to have the functions of a foundation, covering skin imperfections and adding the benefits of treating the face like a traditional skin care product. This hybrid cream aims to do the job of up to 5 and even more tubes of skin care products, such as sun screen, moisturizer, age defying properties, evening skin color, primer and so on...

Generally their price is quite affordable, taking into consideration the prices of high end foundations, face lift creams and the other skin care products altogether... BB creams are formulated to be the only needed product to use after the face wash, in order to do the magic. There are even BB creams for men's skincare.

But don't expect a BB cream to be the Ginny in the bottle. Unfortunately you can't have it all. It  is very difficult to combine all of this convenience into a single product. Some of BB creams limitations are that they are either light in texture, it's hard to find the right shade for your skin, or they may be too oily or too drying. But the formulations are improving fast, so if you are in a hurry the BB cream may be the way to go. They are worth to try.

Channel CC Cream
Now a huge trend on the Asian markets are the new generation of CC creams. This 'Color Correction' creams are said to have a lighter texture, to provide better coverage and hydration than the first generation of BB creams.

It may be interesting for you to read the article 'From BB to CC Creams –Innovative Formulation of Multitasking Care' from the International Journal for Applied Science (click to open). It will give a more in depth preview of the BB and CC creams formulations and the faced challenges to improve them.

Here comes the marketing into game... Have you heard of the new DD creams that are coming out? Firstly they were supposed to be Daily Defense Products and they were predicted to offer skin finishing and skincare benefits for the body and feet, ideal for those who don't want to tan, but want the skin on their body to look flawless.

But, a beauty brand  has announced the launch of a DD cream for face called 'Dynamic Do-All' - a combination of the skincare benefits of a BB cream as well as the Colour Correcting power of a CC cream. Not exactly what it was predicted, isn't it? Ah, this marketing madness...

How does cancer develop?

Cancer Development
The history of every disease is made of two parts. The first is the history of the outside factor and the second the history of the inside cause... As an old doctor from Thracia would say, all things, good and bad, come from the soul and they flow from there like from a source, all over the body.
Without draining the source of the bad there can not be neither healing or peace for the soul.

People have been linking cancer development with their spiritual and emotional states for ages. A lot of patients state that their cancer disease has happened after a great neural tension, an abnormal stress, depressive state, or a prolong and deep grieving state. It is possible that difficult emotive states can lower the body immune defenses, leaving so, in an indirect way, open the gate for the development of cancer. But until now this is only hypothetical and needs to be proven from further and more complete studies.

Cancer cells have the ability to multiply continuously, their daughter cells do not die periodically as the normal cells would and they can destroy their normal neighbor cells. The basic characteristic of the malign (bad) tumors is their capability to spread locally and thoroughly in the organism. Cancer cells can destroy the nearby healthy tissues and infiltrate there in different directions.

During the local infiltration of the cancer cells in the nearby tissues, they can destroy the blood vessel's wall or lymph's and through blood stream and lymphatic circulation, they can go to distant organs or tissues away from the tumor mass.

If the cancer cells find the right conditions in these distant organs or tissues, that make their life and multiplication possible, they form secondary tumor masses, that are known as metastatic masses, or metastases. This whole picture makes the primary cancer cells seem very diabolic to achieve their aim... The local infiltration makes the surgical removal of tumors very difficult or impossible and the presence of metastatic growth makes it useless...

Cancer to develop needs months or even years. In breast cancer patients, the tumor needs 10-15 years to grow in a size 1-1.5 cm. If the breast cancer tumor is diagnosed in the size 1-1,5 cm, than in 90% of the cases there is a full recovery after the treatment.

That's why the early cancer diagnosis is very important and can save lives. If you want further information on cancer, as a metabolic disease, I encourage you to read the book 'Cancer as a Metabolic Disease' by Thomas Seyfried.
